Went to Bill's for info on my transmission not functioning as it should. Called in the morning and they fit me in when they were able to. Bill replaced my transmission for less than half what Aamco quoted me, threw in a front axle, let me make payments on it since it was a big job, and even let me take it home so I could drive it for work while I was still paying the work off!! When the transmission gave out on our van near Gainesville, just 3 hours before reaching our destination for vacation, a local mechanic recommended Bill's Low Cost Transmission. Within an hour of contacting Bill, he had arranged to have the van towed to his shop, and he immediately checked it out. After we decided to leave it there for repair, Bill himself took us to a nearby car rental agency so that we could rent a vehicle and continue on to our destination. Although the repairs took a day longer than initially indicated, exactly one week later the work was completed, and we were able to pick up our van. Bill asked us to stop by the shop on our way back home so that they could check things over once more before we drove another 14 hours home, which we did (it was a quick 20 minute stop, and we were on the road again). Our van has operated well ever since, and we're very thankful that we were directed to Bill's Low Cost Transmission and would highly recommend the shop.

Explains everything needed and recommend what should be done in near future if you can't afford it in the moment..will only fix what's needed and not overcharge or do anything unnecessary! We've been having a lot of problems with other garage's and even dealerships overcharging for work not needed etc. This place was recommended to us and we would definitely recommend them to anyone and everyone else. They do a lot more than just transmission work here..and are great mechanics.. definitely give them a call first so they can check out your vehicle..Honest places like this are hard to come by these days..and Their work is A+..professional/ respectful owner and employees. I recently bought a used car that had something going on with the transmission. I check with a couple of other shops before I found Bills. He honestly diagnosed the car and found that the problems were mostly engine related. He cleaned my fuel system, added a treatment to help the torque converter and did a full tune-up and the price was really fare for the work that he did. I'll definitely be a return customer since he has a full automotive repair shop as well as doing transmissions. If you go to Bills once you'll be a return customer as well. He's good people!

I highly recommend Bill's Low Cost Transmissions & Automotive Repair. I travel about 50,00 miles a year on sales calls and have had 2 transmissions replaced. All repairs within the last 3 years. One on a 2005 Food Expedition and a 2013 Nissan Rouge. I even had estimates from a total of 3 professional places and dealerships and Bill had the best pricing and time frame. Repairs where professional and done on time. You have nothing to lose, but cash out of your pocket, if you don't at least get an estimate from Bill.
CAUTION HORSES
My 2014 Journey just rolled over to 100,000 miles. Now I figured I had some more time left/miles. Well no. Took her to Mr. Bill...rebuilt the trans, new spark plugs, new filters all. New brakes and calipers. New car you say...did not want the payments. Mr. Bill was very informative and also stated I am to bring her in after 200 miles to make sure everything is working properly. I called incessantly but he was always nice and understanding. They are super busy. Bill's Low-Cost Transmission was recommended by 2 mechanic friends. I will recommend for sure. If you have major problems like me...it will take awhile. So be patient. Thanks Bill!

While they did take a little longer than expected to get my truck?s transmission done I wouldn?t complain with the work. They told me about some other potential issues that could be fixed at home and when I took my truck back today for them to see how it was holding up (they asked me to bring it back for free for them to drive to see how it?s doing) it only took about 15 minutes. They were a little slow getting it done, but for starters they seemed a bit understaffed. Price was great and they were always friendly and patient with me and my phone calls.

Bill is an honest mechanic. I found him through AAA, after a horrible experience in Atlanta, at a AAA repair center. He explained what happened and rebuilt our transmission. We live an hour away, and have continued to use Bill's. It is well worth the drive. He is patient and explains things that needs to be done and if you don't understand he explains it again. :) We really appreciate having an honest mechanic.

Mr Bills has been fixing my cars since 2009. I watched his twin boys grow up. He started with my 1998 dodge neon my 2002 Jeep Liberty and our newest edition 2012 Audi Q5. Mr Bill has always been honest from day one. Now I confess I cheated on bill just trying to support a black owned business. Let's just say I came back home. He has always treated me with respect and works with me when I'm about to break down from the bill. He'll tell me let's do this and that and bring it back and we'll do that. Now there has been times that he has told me now Roshonda you can't drive that car like that. Mr Bill is more than my mechanic he's family. If we pull into the drive way with my 9 year old and one of the cars are not here he'll ask, "mom does Mr Bill have our car?" Listen to me Mr Bill IS NOT A BAD GUY!!!!!!! People if you are looking for that honest repair shop you have always wanted I suggest you give them your business. After the dealership didn't want to warranty the alternator on a brand new car we took it here because we had spoken with George and he thought he might know a better solution. After 2 minutes of looking it over found it was just a loose ground connection and took care of it. He even helped us get the car there by using a jump box to keep the engine charged. It was only 4 miles down the road and only 2 from the dealership which told her she could pay for a tow truck. They didn't try to sell us on stuff we didn't need or lie like the dealership just to exploit a single mother. So I am writing this review so anyone that is looking for trust worthy and quality service can have the same experience we did. Go see George and he will make sure you are taken good care of!

My transmission completely failed without any warning just recently. After researching ALL the shops in Gainesville, Florida, a coworker referred me to Bills Transmission. I spoke to Bill personally and he offered to tow my vehicle to his place and he would call back with the estimate. I didn't want to burden him with towing so I had it towed. Not 1 hour after it was dropped at Bills he called me with the horrific news. I explained how unprepared "Financially" I was for this type of repair and Bill calmly advised me that he will have one of his techs basically dissect my transmission so he can come up with other options that might help me. Without delay, Bill contacted me with 2 different options that helped me have it repaired and be able to afford it. THANKS BILL AND STAFF!!!!!!!!! If anyone asks me where to bring their vehicle, without hesitation, I tell them BILLS !!!!!!

George went out of his way to diagnose our problem with our car. After taking the car to two dealerships that could not figure out the problem, and told me they thought it was the transmission, bills discovered otherwise. Bills did not want to charge me for repairs that I did not need. It turned out to be an electrical problem not related to the transmission at all. I fully recommend Bills.

Excellent service. Bill is honest and extremely helpful. The work was done well and we are pleased with everything. Update 12/1 - still happy with the repair but had a problem. Jiffy Lube said that there were some hoses which were not in the proper place. Went back to Bill's and asked them to take a look. Bill said it would be an hour before they could look at it. We waited. After an hour I asked how much longer and was told just another 30 minutes. After an additional 30 minutes my keys had not moved off the counter so I said that we were leaving. The person managing said, "Ok", and offered no apology.

My work van would not go into reverse and was having trouble going in forward. I was looking for a transmission shop and saw Bills low cost, 1800 block of N. main street. I stopped, talked to Bill, told him I needed my work van transmission fixed as soon as possible. Bill told me they would rebuild my tranny and guarantee it for a year and have it done in two days. I own WW Rooter Plumbing Drain and Sewer cleaning and told him that sounded great, although I didnt think they would have it fixed that quick and for the price he quoted.I was shocked when he called me one and a half days later and told me it was fixed and the cost was less 'than he quoted me.I would highly recommend Bills low cost transmission and auto repair. My daughters transmission was out and we couldnt find anyone reputable that had the skills to do the job right. I asked a small crowd of older mechanically inclined men at the local store for someone that could do this 100% right. One older mechanic said if we didnt use Bill,,,it was our fault when it wasnt right. I called Bill and the same day he sent a tow truck and picked it up. Hes been actively working on this the whole week and it's pretty busy around there. Today is the 5th day and it should be ready. If not, Monday. That's pretty amazing. Everyone else was 2 weeks minimum. Also, this transmission had been attempted to be taken out by an idiot claiming to be a mechanic but really was a tree guy, so most parts were in the back seat. It's hard to go behind a dumba$$ on a car. This transmission shop has high standards because they give an excellent warranty that let's you know they fixed it! Pretty happy with the way it went. I'd take my cars there and I'd tell you to do the same. Thanks Bill !

Mom took her Honda to them for all cylinder misfire that 2 other mechanics, and not even the dealer could fix, but they got it the first time. She also had a transmission replaced here about 2 years ago, and it still hasn't had a single issue. Highly recommend.

Being someone who is bound to a wheelchair, you quickly learn that your vehicle is your main source of independence. My truck started giving me problems staying in gear so I took it over to Bill's shop. George, a mechanic, was quick to help. I got to the shop before they officially opened but George was so nice to open the office doors for my daughter and I to have a place to hangout until Bill got into the shop. Being welcomed was a great feeling. Anyways, they were able to rebuild my transmission for me faster than I thought possible and for a fair price. These guys know their stuff. Thanks!
